Botox Plastic Surgery Forum - Is Botox Cosmetic Surgery?

Is botox a cosmetic surgery?

Technically surgery means: treatment of injuries or disorders of the body by incision or manipulation. This is an injection of a poison to stop nerves from working. One can call this a surgery, others just a "treatment."

Many consider Botox cosmetic. Although popular, I do not offer it nor consider it cosmetic. To me beauty of the body involves a natural movement. This medication stops this movement which may be why those offering it seem to avoid showing movies after surgery of what the results look like. Perhaps when used to control the disturbing motions of a tick, it would then fit my personal definition of a cosmetic procedure. When used for migraine headaches, it is not cosmetic.

Hope this helps,
