I am a veterinarian and was bitten by an Anatolian Sheppherd dog in the face. It tore out the entire right corner of my mouth and removed a chunk of tissue of my lip and face. This just happened on Thursday. I was lucky there was a plastic surgeon at the hops to suture the wound p. I was wondering if you could look at some pictures and offer a professional second opinion as to what can be done to minimize scarring and disfigurement.
Thanks, Dr -
The best time to address Dog Bites of the Face
is with the primary repair and reconstruction. Each surgeon has their own after surgery care and Scar Care
methods. I prefer to individualize my scar care for each of my patients depending on what sculpture techniques I used, the degree of trauma, and many other factors.
Such issues are better managed in person to understand how the tissues move, and not just with pictures.
Hope this helps,
