I have puffy nipple gynecomastia. I have many bad scars elsewhere on my body? Can I have gynecomastia surgery?

This is a frequent question. The issue is when can elective cosmetic surgery take place? For some, at any time, consequences be damned! Unfortunately I have seen many patients come to my office saying that they were offered surgery elsewhere asking for my help in reducing subtle Puffy Nipple Gynecomastia. The problem is with subtle problems, replacing a natural deformity with an obvious scar is not in the patient's interest when dealing with cosmetic concerns.

I saw another individual in my office today. He had major hypertrophic scars on his arms, legs and chest as well as hyperpigmented and hypopgimented regions: some scars had lost pigment, others too much. He did have gynecomastia. Surgery would not have been a reasonable gamble. Replacing the contour deformity of gynecomastia with unnatural scars is not reasonable. Unless the original scars were from suboptimal healing, even the best Gynecomastia Surgery Technique, Scar Care, and Compression Garments After Gynecomastia Surgery can offer only so much.

Surgery is more than just having great techniques, it also involves judgement on when to operate for elective issues.

Hope this helps,
