The Belly Button Changes During Pregnancy. The expanding forces of the baby stresses the entire stomach including the belly button. When inside pushes out, belly buttons can completely change shape. If the pressures get too great, some permanent changes can occur as tissue disrupts. But for most, once the baby is born and tissue readjust, the former shape returns.
